Sacred Heart Hummus and Veggie Tray

Happy feast of St. Margaret Mary! I love to take this day to focus on devotion to the Sacred Heart and celebrate with a some special food.

Sacred Heart Hummus and Veggie Tray

Not all liturgically inspired food is healthy, so this is a great break from all the sweets- especially in liturgically rich October!

  • Roasted Red Pepper Hummus (store bought or homemade)
  • Pretzels
  • Red and Yellow Peppers
  • Carrots

Shape the hummus into a heart (I did this on a cookie tray). Create a Crown of Thorns with the pretzels. Cut the peppers and carrots into strips and use to create flames and the wound from the lance. Use a few remaining pretzels to create a cross on top of the flames.

A few other Sacred Heart food ideas:

Sacred Heart chip and dip tray (I cannot find the original source for this, let me know if you can!)

Lots of Sacred Heart food ideas from Catholic Cuisine

Sacred Heart cookies (and craft ideas) from Catholic Icing

Sacred Heart Pizza (different than ours) and crafts from Saints, Feast, and Family
