Feast of Saint Francis Snack Idea: Awesome Animal Trail Mix (with printable!)

Last Friday, the kids and I whipped together a quick snack in honor of the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. It may be too late to use this idea this year (except for maybe All Saints’ Day parties!), but I thought I would share it with you so it documented for next year’s October 4th.

We all know I won’t think of it next year until after the fact, so this is as good as it gets folks!

Saint Francis trail mix

The kids distributed the trail mix bags after daily Mass, so I put together a little label to attach to each baggie (you can find that down below!).

Saint Francis Awesome Animal Trail Mix

Combine any or all of the following

  • M&Ms
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Peanut Butter Chips
  • Candy Corn
  • Marshmallows
  • Raisins (or other dried fruit)
  • Cereal (Cheerios of different types work well)
  • Mini pretzels
  • Goldfish
  • Teddy Grahams (any or multiple flavors)
  • Animal Crackers (chocolate, plain, or iced)
  • Bagel chips (my personal favorite!)

Gently mix the trail mix and then, if you plan on sharing, distribute in baggies. Print off the printable labels and tie on with ribbon!

Our family has celebrated the feast of Saint Francis with animal crackers for years, but it was fun to make our feast day snack a bit more interesting.
